This week I took on the very popular Washi dress by Made by Rae. It is a great pattern and I would definitely recommend it for beginner sewers. I used some colourful cotton that I got from the Spotlight sale. Its a great fit though I think next time I will make it one size smaller. The darts are so easy to do (thanks Rae!) and give a gorgeous fit for the bust area. This pattern gets a 10/10 in my book. I will be getting the geranium dress pattern for my muchkin next.

Love it Josie!! I’ve bought a bunch of fabric lately (Spotlight clearance haha!) to make some stuff for me – I think the Washi is a must. The weather has been so awful, I’ve got so many things to photograph but its so gloomy!
ps. I’m hosting a social sewing day in Brunswick on July 6 – if you are free you should come along 🙂 If you are keen let me know, I’ll give you all the details.
Hi. Sounds great. I dont think I have anything on so I’m keen to stop by! Send me the details when u get a chance.
Hi Josie, I can’t find a contact email for you – can you send me a quick email and I’ll reply with all the details? roslynruss@gmail.com 🙂
Cute! I especially love the yellow on you. 🙂
Hi Kat,
Thank you. Bright colors rock! I’m pretty chuffed as this is one the few “wearable” things I’ve made.
This is really lovely and I really want to buy Washi now, but i’m on a pattern ban :(!!
Mmm, I know what you mean. I need to go on a pattern ban too! Haha
I LOVE the yellow dress! Well done Josie and the dress looks beautiful on you!
Great dresses! Luckily, my local spotlight just did a revamp and the clearance tables are jam packed! I only every shop there when there is a sale.
Thank you! I love a good sale too 🙂
